You have Agency.

Contrary to what your present situation might be portraying, you are not powerless or hopeless. You have the agency to change the course of your life and the direction you are presently headed. If you want to get a new result, you’ve got to change your approach. What got you here will get you to where you need to be. Albert Einstein once said, “Doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity”. It will be tough, but you must look in the mirror more often (personal responsibility) and look less out the window (blaming outside forces). The outside forces/your environment plays a vital role, but the most crucial job starts from the inside. Success is an inside out job, if you cannot go within, then manifesting outwardly is going to be more challenging.

As the Father of American psychology, William James, famously said, “The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude.” When one alters their outlook about what is happening to them at any particular time and is willing to take the necessary steps to change, success is inevitable. The tough conversations need to be hard, the tough decisions need to be made, the challenging weather/life’s winter needs to be endured, and the tough times will ultimately transform you into a better version of yourself. Don’t let success get into your head and do not let failure get to your heart. Nothing lasts forever, you’ve got agency, don’t lose hope, keep ushing.

Meditations

Daily Calm with Tamara Levitt – Cats  (open to unexpected teachers)

Our teachers come in many forms and can spring into our lives from any corner at any time. And if we are open, we can receive teachings from improbable sources like a challenging co-worker, an inquisitive child or a confident cat. A Buddhist proverb goes, “When the student is ready, the teacher arrives.” Our guide shows up in unlikely ways and places, and to recognize them, we must be teachable and stay receptive.

Daily Jay with Jay Shetty – Regeneration

Rapid transformation is not realistic in every situation; so many variables affect how quickly we can evolve. All the cells in our body get replaced every seven years, which means we become different people.  There are trillions of cells in our body, over time those cells age, some die off, and our body create new ones to replace them. The majority of cells have a life span of 7-10 years. Our regenerate slowly than other parts of our body, our brain cells rarely change while our cells in our stomach change every two days. Our body cells change at different rates.

Some personal metamorphosis will be easy and quick, routines will stick, skills will click. Other times, it will take longer than we like, which can be tough. We may want to force the tide of change to bend to our will to fit into specific timelines, but we can’t control every aspect of our journey. The key is to accept the lack of control and even flow with it. To do your best moving in the direction that you want while welcoming what the world has in mind. We are built for change, renewal, but we have to realize that it doesn’t always happen in 7 years, so to speak. We are like the cells in our body, in some ways regenerating day by day and in others remaining steady throughout our lives.
