The Year of New Beginnings.

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” – Maria Robinson.

2025 is going to be a year of new beginnings, an opportunity to recaliberate and reset. It is ok to feel stuck, unsure, fall down, lose one’s way but the goal is to always bounce back, re-group and keep pushing. The new year is an opportunity to start afresh, set new goals, re-align commitments and decide to become who you instinctively know you were meant to be. As the saying goes “You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to start to become great”. The bigger the goal, the bigger the struggle. Achieving your goal is not guaranteed but the struggle is guaranteed.

“You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to start to become great”.

On your path to achieving your goal, you are going to stumble. Rest if you have to but don’t settle, or don’t dare give up on your dreams. You are put here specifically to discover your potential and awaken the giant within you. I know it is tough trying to pursue an audacious goal like finding your purpose in a world where you are expected to fit in with the crowd but please, give it shot. We miss all the chances we don’t take, begin anew and unleash your undiscovered potential. The best is yet to come and if you don’t try, you never know. You’ve got this.

Daily Calm – Tamara Levitt – New Beginnings

The new year is a time

Charged with meaning, all around us people are taking stock of the year past and looking forward with hope to the new year coming. The value of new milestones like the new year and birthdays are that this point of transitions gives us a chance to chart a new course, set new goals and cultivate new habits.

A new year present an opportunity to look ahead with fresh eyes. Through the year, we are stuck in our routines, habits and schedules. We often feel stuck and lose sight of the millions of opportunities to start afresh.

In mindfulness, we learn that every passing moment brings an opportunity for a new beginning . Just as each breath is fresh, each day or for that matter any hour or minute or second can be a chance to reset and start anew.

At any moment, we can choose for ourself a new beginning.

Daily Jay – Jay Shetty – Cheer the Future You

It is natural to have heroes people we want to be like, to emulate, who inspire us grow, but what if when considering role models instead of always looking outward, you also look inside and forward.

Matthew McConaughey’s 2014 Oscar Acceptance Speech for Best Actor in a Leading Role:

McConaughey said: There are three things he needs each day: something to lookup to, something to look forward to and someone to chase. He shares a story:

And to my hero, that’s who I chase. Now when I was 15 years old, I had a very important person in my life come to me and say “Who’s your hero?” And I said, “I don’t know. I gotta think about that. Give me a couple of weeks.” I come back two weeks later — this person comes up and says  “Who’s your hero?” I said, “I thought about it. You know who it is?” I said, “It’s me in 10 years.”

So I turned 25. Ten years later, that same person comes to me and goes, “So are you a hero?” And I was like, “Not even close. No, no, no.” She said, “Why?” I said, “Because my hero’s me at 35.” So you see every day, every week, every month, and every year of my life, my hero’s always 10 years away. I’m never gonna be my hero. I’m not gonna attain that. I know I’m not, and that’s just fine with me because that keeps me with somebody to keep on chasing.

So, to any of us, whatever those things are, whatever it is we look up to, whatever it is we look forward to, and whoever it is we’re chasing — to that I say, “Amen.”

It is not about arriving at a destination but continually developing  along the way. It is like there is no mountaintop, just becoming a better climber.

Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, Or what’s a heaven for? – Robert Browning
